Special Applications
Steuler supplies a wide range of alumina-based refractory products for many industrial sectors and special applications, which are used as wear lining, brick backings or insulation materials and which can be adapted to meet specific requirements.

For example, Steuler has developed special, chemically bonded andalusite qualities for zinc recovery plants that have shown excellent durability in rotary kilns. Materials that are alkaline-resistant are used in dust chambers.

In the sector of titanium oxide production, Steuler has andalusite and fireclay qualities to offer as lining materials for rotary kilns and hot gas generators.

Reduction-resistant fireclay and andalusite qualities that are capable of meeting the exacting requirements with regard to thermal stress continuously and reliably are used in the production and reactivation of active carbon. Steuler employs special fireclay qualities for the production of barium carbonate.
