Plastics Technology

Steuler has been utilising the advantages of thermo and duroplastic materials for more than 40 years now. Our own research and development departments, production facilities, state-of-the-art CAD equipment and optimised manufacturing processes also make one of the leading specialists in plastics technology.

Equipment and plant components made of plastics.

  • Nozzle levels, piping, sieve baskets and other structural components for flue gas desulphurisation plants

  • Towers, chimneys, columns, structural components for wet electro-filters

  • Basins and tanks in conformity with the German Water Management Act

  • Pickling and galvanising basins

  • Large-volume tanks for inaccessible places

  • Free-standing and buried pipes in single- or double-walled installation

  • Compensators, throttling valves, cut-off valves

  • Grids made of duroplastic and thermoplastic materials

  • Grease separators

We examine the operational conditions and with them the total load on equipment and components. Each chemical, thermal and mechanical load is extensively analysed. General environmental influences are also important factors and must not be neglected.

Only then is the suitable material specified and the component calculated and constructed in conformity with the loads placed on it. By closely networking its various units, Steuler can also make solutions possible for special requirements.

The available materials are:
  • Thermoplastic materials such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinylchloride (PVC), polyvinylide fluoride (PVDF) and special grades

  • Duroplastic materials manufactured from unsaturated polyester resins or vinyl ester resins, reinforced with E-glass, in special cases also with carbon or synthetic fibres

  • Composites made of thermo and duroplasts

New materials, their proper use, innovative constructions and material compounds are constantly expanding the range of possible uses for plastics. Steuler is a specialist when it comes to repairing and improving existing plants with new components and structural parts. Instead of investing in completely new plants, it is often worthwhile to integrate new developments into existing plants to keep technology state-of-the-art.

Steuler is a reliable specialist company in accordance with Sec: 19 l of the German Water Management Act. DIBt General Building Permits for flat-floor tanks and catchment facilities guarantee the required certainty for plants requiring inspections and permits. Also, constant monitoring by the Southwest German TÜV and other testing authorities for plastics are, of course, natural.
