Thanks to their special properties, glass-fibre reinforced plastics have become established as a material for manufacturing tubes, process equipment and vessels and offer users enormous potential when it comes to developing new applications.

Glass-fibre reinforced plastics (GRPs) are modern construction materials that are indispensable in many industrial plant engineering applications.

The 10th FRP Unlimited offered plant designers, engineers, users and operators the opportunity to increase their knowledge with specialist presentations and discuss the latest findings about using the material in practice with experts. The long-term experience with GRP components and innovative new applications were some of the main subjects of discussion, and project reports and testimonies with direct practical relevance were presented by leading companies and experts in the field.

The selection, properties and specifications of the material, construction and design as well as certification and standardisation were key themes of the conference with associated workshop. There was also a trade exhibition that offered companies the opportunity to present their products and services too.

The Plastics Division made a valuable contribution to the conference with its lecture on "Newly developed GRP tubes for the chloralkali process" and used the opportunity to present its products at its exhibition stand.
