Steuler Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG founds subsidiary in India

News

India ranks as one of the top steel producers in the world. According to IMF forecasts, the country enjoys stronger economic growth than China and is set to generate 15% of the world-wide gross domestic product by the year 2050.

Steuler Anlagenbau has been successfully delivering projects in India for over 10 years, primarily in the surface protection sector. Current market trends mean there‘s a greater demand for turn-key solutions and a higher proportion of locally manufactured products. „With Steuler Equipment Engineering India Pvt. Ltd., we‘re better positioned to master the challenges of the market and expect to achieve better market penetration thanks to the stronger bridgehead we now have in the country.“, explains Jörg Kurth, one of the directors of the new company. The headquarters of the new company is situated in Pune in the state of Maharashtra, not far from the mega-city of Mumbai. Dinesh Manocha, who has represented the equipment engineering division in-country for a number of years now, has local responsibility. Dinesh Manocha already announced the first new order back in January 2018 to provide supervision services for installation work on a pickling plant. Lars Hümmeler completes the board of directors for the commercial topics.

A tunnel pickling plant for carbon steel rods is currently being installed for our customer JSW Steel in Salem (South India). Performance testing and acceptance are expected to be completed contemporary in 2018.
