This year, we are donating a portion of our Christmas donation to the Outpatient Children’s and Youth Hospice in Koblenz. The organization supports families facing particularly difficult life situations. One of its main focuses is providing support to families with a child or teenager living with a life-shortening illness. The staff visit families in their homes, listen to their concerns, and offer support with worries, social welfare issues, and financial difficulties. If needed, they also help make important purchases that support daily care and quality of life. Having volunteers help out and interacting with other families can make everyday life easier.

In addition, the hospice offers grief counseling for children and adolescents who have lost a loved one. This support can begin even before the person passes away. Through one-on-one sessions, open and closed grief support groups, and a summer camp, young people find a safe space to share their experiences and cope with their grief.

Through all of its programs, the Koblenz-based organization helps families feel supported during difficult times. The support is free of charge and is funded by donations. With our Christmas donation, we want to strengthen this important work - and help ensure that families facing challenging life situations can continue to receive reliable support.

With our donation, we also supported the construction of the new Flürchen forest playground in Höhr-Grenzhausen.

This natural, lively space gives children room to explore, experiment, and play. It is a place that combines adventure, nature experiences, physical activity, and social interaction, while also strengthening children’s connection to nature. From climbing areas and nature-inspired play spaces to quiet retreats - the playground is a valuable asset for families, preschools, schools, and recreational groups in Höhr-Grenzhausen and throughout the region.

A place has been created here where future generations of children will play, explore, and make memories.

The playground is operated by the “Zweite Heimat” Youth, Culture, and Community Center.
