Test certificate for KERA Complex opens up opportunities for further market expansion

News

KERA® DUROSTRONG from Steuler are special thermosets based on phenolic or furan resins, reinforced with mineral glass fibers and/or carbon fibers as well as special fillers.

This material group is primarily used in chemical processes where the highest level of chemical resistance at high temperatures is required, e.g., when hydrogen chloride gas is broken down into its chemical components in electrolyzers, when phosphoric acid is processed into white acid for the food industry, or when tire cord and viscose-based textile products are spun in hot acid.

The KERA® Complex material grade consists of glass-fiber-reinforced phenolic resin and is particularly resistant to non-oxidizing acids and solvents. This material grade is primarily used in the manufacture of rollers for the food and viscose industries.

In order to be used in food production or in upstream processes within these industries, the material must meet strict requirements.

The suitability of KERA® Complex has now been certified by an independent testing institute. The material was tested according to the globally recognized FDA standard (United States Food & Drug Administration) under strict testing criteria, and its safety was confirmed.

The certification now provides Steuler Group customers with official, verifiable assurance that components made from KERA® Complex are the right choice for their production processes.

At the same time, this certification opens up the opportunity to tap into additional markets and industries for the KERA® DUROSTRONG product family, where certification from independent institutes is essential.
