Ancorite, which is based near Manchester, was once a subsidiary of Westerwälder Keramchemie until it was taken over by the management at the time.
The new subsidiary of the Steuler Group is mainly involved in floor coatings, brick linings and piping made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP), although it does not manufacture the products itself. Annual sales are between 10 and 15 million pounds sterling (the equivalent of around 11 to 17 million euros).
With this acquisition, Steuler gains access to the market in Great Britain and Ireland, which has hardly been supplied up to now. The group of companies, which employs more than 2,700 people and has sales of 441 million euros, is thus further expanding its presence in the corrosion protection sector.
